Phyllis Sue Hunsaker

Phyllis S. Hunsaker, 89 of Medford, OR went home to Jesus on March 8, 2022 at her home. Born Sept. 6, 1932 in Clairton, PA, she moved to Glendale, AZ in 1946. Upon graduating from Glendale High she entered the Sisters of Mercy Nursing school at St. Joseph's Hospital in Phoenix and graduated as an RN in 1953.
Phyllis married Don Hunsaker in 1953 and they were completely devoted to each other until death.

Phyllis spent her entire nursing career caring for the sick at the bedside and later in administration. She was always very humble and grateful for all of God's gifts and never failed to think of others before herself. She loved gardening, knitting and her family, but above all she loved the LORD with her entire being.

Phyllis is survived by her 3 children: Dona Gelsinger (Brian) of Central Point, OR; Matt Hunsaker (Melanie) of Fayetteville, TN; and Will Hunsaker (Ronda) of Adin, CA.
5 grandchildren: Jesse Gelsinger, Kelsey Massey, JC Hunsaker, Shane Hunsaker and Shelbe Hunsaker along with 6 great grandchildren.
2 Sisters; Esther Wickersham and Billie Lenac.
2 brothers; Hilary Johnson and Ray Johnson and Ed Johnson who preceded her in death.

Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 pm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Medford, OR on Friday, March 25, 2022.
Inurnment following at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary in Medford, OR.
