Peter Rogers

Peter Rogers passed away peacefully at home on February 9, 2023. He was born in New York City to Cecile (Cronin) and John Rogers on April 5, 1957. He is survived by his daughter, Claire Monteiro (husband Robert), son Andrew Peter Rogers, their mother Karen Rogers, and siblings Cece, Dede, Mike, and Billy, and their partners and children. He was predeceased by his parents, brother Johnny, and Sam the Dog. Peter and his family grew up in Monterey near the Pebble Beach Golf Links. An avid news junkie, Peter studied broadcasting management at San Francisco State and went on to work in multiple television and radio broadcasting organizations in San Francisco and the Rogue Valley, including General Manager of FOX 26 and My48 in Medford, Oregon and at Jefferson Public Radio in Ashland, Oregon. His volunteer experiences included Junior Achievement through the Medford Rotary, and serving on the board for the Ginger Rogers Craterian Theater and Habitat for Humanity in Medford. A devoted father, he loved hawks, being near the ocean, the smell of oranges, and the Grateful Dead. His memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 22 at 10:00am at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Medford, Oregon.
