Larry A. Semm

October 8, 1943 — December 8, 2018

Dr. Larry A Semm, 75 passed peacefully on Saturday, Dec 8, 2018 at Brookdale Assisted Living in Vancouver, WA after a 10-month battle with brain cancer. He was a longtime resident and respected community member of Delta Junction Alaska.
Larry was born Oct 8, 1943 in Grand Island, Nebraska to Eugene and Edna (Lockenvitz) Semm and was the middle of 3 children. Larry has always been drawn to animals, specifically horses. He attended Kansas State University graduating with a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree. Larry used this degree in his career with the USDA and in his private equine practice in Southern Oregon. Larry’s career led him through the Pacific Northwest, ultimately landing in Alaska where he retired and built a cabin. He had several passions in his life: love of animals, being a father and Pa, building strong friendships, adventuring in the great outdoors, hunting and fishing. Larry left his imprint on this world, not only with his family and friends, but on everyone he met. His smile, humor from the soul, laughter and presence will be fondly remembered. The wisdom, guidance and neverending thirst for knowledge that he graciously shared with anyone close to him will always be cherished.
Larry was the loving father of Rebecca Colley of Fort Worth TX, Mark (Brandy) Semm of Minot ND and Krista (Chris) Eanes of Snellville GA. He will be forever remembered by his sister Norma (Sterling) Caulkins, Brother Dale (Diane) Semm, 15 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his beloved spouse Linda (Budreau) Semm, father Eugene Semm, mother Edna Semm, son Jason Roberts and an infant daughter.
The Semm family would like to extend our gratitude to all of Larry’s friends who stepped up in his time of need providing companionship and loving care.
