Kathleen Mae(Davies) Oyler
Kathleen M. Oyler returned to spirit, at 88 years of age, on Sept. 28, 2018 with her family and close friend by her side.
A native of Medford, OR., she was born March 7, 1930. She grew up in Eagle Point and was the only child of her father Clarence Davies, a one time mayor of Eagle Point and high school principle and mother Julia Davies. In 1957 Kathleen married Oregon Shakespearean Festival actor Bill Oyler. They had two children; Julie and Eric.
Kathleen trained as a nurse for one year but found her true calling as an elementary school teacher. She taught in Grants Pass, OR., Hollywood, CA., with the majority of her career in Santa Monica, CA., including a stint as president of local teachers union. She retired in 1988 and with her husband Bill returned to the beautiful Rogue Valley settling in Ashland.
Her varied interests include; live theater, British mysteries and comedies, international and domestic travel, gardening and home decorating, cultivating and maintaining her many friendships as well as an avid reader of history, mysteries and Winnie-the-Pooh.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00PM Saturday, Nov. 3, 2018 at the 1st Presbyterian church in Ashland. They will be laid to rest together in Memory Gardens Memorial Park.
